Anode Chamber

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Bay Machine and Fabrication was tasked to machine complete anode chambers. This project included anode chamber plates, spacer plates and spacer end plates. We fabricated spacer end plates and cut and welded the A572 grade 50 steel plates by plasma cutting, welding and then machining plates flat and holes drilled. The anode chamber plates and spacer plates were made from HDPE Plastic 2” thick plate. They were machined complete on a CNC Programmable VMC. The spacer plates made of A572 grade 50 1-1/2” thick plates were also machined on our CNC Mill. All machining on all components were held to a 32 finish and tolerances to be held at +/- .005. The project at this point was inspected completely and the steel components were handed off to the paint shop at this point all machined surfaces were masked, they were blasted, primed and painted. At completion they were again inspected for quality and then shipped to our customer.

PROJECT DETAILS

Finish: All steel surfaces were sandblasted to a SSPC SP-6 surface preparation.  Upon completion of preparation, all steel was coated with two coats of International Paints Anti-Corrosive 300V Epoxy paint in alternating colors, followed by a topcoat in International Paints 990HS Polyurethane.
